# Connect a data source

> Add a source without an ERP migration.

1. Go to **Sources**.
2. Add a source — spreadsheet upload, file export, or a supported connector, depending on your
   deployment.
3. EMI ingests the source and reconciles it into **Golden Materials**.
4. Review ingestion status on the Sources page; flagged records surface in the **Review Queue** for a
   human decision before they're treated as reconciled.

  EMI is designed to layer on top of your existing systems. You do not need to migrate off your current
  ERP or inventory system to use EMI.
